Ok so I have got the original iPhone and I love it but wait o2 have offered me the new iPhone 3g for nothing awsome. Monday the 7th July i get the text saying I can pre order so I go for it.

I know the demand will be high and chances are slim but i get 3 machines (my imac, iphone and an ancient pc) to log on to the O2 website surely I stand a good chance.

Well to be honest not many people did, in the history of technology its been the fastest selling gadget of all time and even O2 who planned for their site to handle 250x their normal volumegot it wrong… big time

They sold 13,000 iPhones per second and were sold out in under an hour and the site was crippled by the traffic.

We had invested heavily to add a huge amount of additional capacity, 250 times its normal rate, and back-up systems. We tested this carefully in advance. The massive simultaneous crush, partly created by our open and honest communications approach with the registered community, exceeded even our worst case assumptions. Demand was at 13,000 orders per second. Frankly, we have to admit we just weren’t prepared for this unprecedented level of demand. No website is.

They are reopening the site again on the 10th, fingers crossed people!

For months I have been searching in vain to find a decent easy to customise Flickr sidebar plugin, well my search has finally come to and end!

KickApps is a social networking site where you build your own apps using their own widget creator and after using it I have come to the conclusion that its awesome. You can create widgets for all sorts of things from blog feeds, videos, slideshows, music player each being endlessly styled using the online editor.

I used one of their templates then swapped the feed address to my Flickr feed styled it to match my side, then pasted the code into my sidebar page and boom there she is in all her shiny glory!

Ok so I have been neglecting my site, not adding posts or content for some time! I apologise not really my fault I have been really busy with various projects. I am really going to make an effort from now on to atleast add one post a week and more if I can, please feel free to shoot me if I fail!

Anyway I have just installed a great plugin called mobileadmin which gives me a really nice interface to manage my blog from my iPhone, this should make things a bit easier as I can update things on the move! This really does leave me with no excuses for not updating this site…. Crap!

Its taken some time but after two and a half months I have managed to retouch and upload the photos (to flickr) of mine and lauren’s trip to Deerpark Forest Log Cabins in November 07.

All the photos were taken with a friends Canon EOS 400D, amazing budget digital SLR, might be bagging myself one of these soon as depth of field cant really be achieved on a compact!
